Grassmoor Village in Bloom Awards took place on 10th August at Mill Lane Allotments Open day. Although the weather was windy and wet the event was well attended and there was a distinct buzz of excitement and anticipation.

Prizes were awarded as follows: - 

Best Flowering Garden First Prize - Maureen Walker, runner up Valerie Forsyth

Best Planter First Prize - Ian Barlow, runner up Grassmoor Methodist Church

Most improved - prize awarded to Elizabeth Almgill

Local Business First Prize Boot & Shoe, runner up The Sportsman

Young People Award - Rainbows

Commended - Christine Bilby

 Overall winner of the competition - Maureen Walker (see photo)
