Although the weather let us down last Saturday, Mill Lane Allotments Open day was a great success. The event was a little curtailed due to strong winds and heavy rain convincing many stall holders to withdraw from the event earlier in the day. However the cake competition, the allotment growers vegetable competition and Grassmoor Village in Bloom awards proved a popular draw with around 60-70 residents attending. As part of the celebrations of the day Spare Thyme allotment green house was officially opened for business by Stephen Wright, Chair of Grassland Hasmoor Big Local.
