Grassmoor and Hasland were, jointly awarded £1,000,000 by the Big Lottery through a national scheme entitled Big Local to spend on community projects chosen and actioned by residents.
The Grassland Hasmoor Big Local Volunteers have continued to work with energy and enthusiasm providing activities and projects to raise spirits and enhance the villages of Hasland and Grassmoor. Armed with local knowledge they set out to bring a smile to our communities!
A Decade on and they have achieved many of the goals set out! Including Sponsorship of the Barnes Park Pavilion, Grassmoor. Creating a popular Petanque Piste and creation of the Skate Park in collaboration with local Young People in Eastwood Park, Hasland. Developing the Hasland Club into a Community Hub that now hosts an array of community groups run by volunteers. Not to mention numerous other groups and events set up by the Partnership Board and Big Local Volunteers!
Sadly, every adventure comes to an end and the Partnership have now allocated their last penny. But it's not over yet! The Partnership are reaching for the stars, and at their final Open Forum in March; To Infinity & Beyond, They formed their next chapter- The Grassmoor Hasland Resident Network Group. This Group will continue on the great work from The Big Local Partnership Board.
Lastly, volunteers are proud to unveil their new support service- Let's Connect. This opportunity aims to support local community groups to access funding support and advice, group infrastructure and expertise on setting up Community Events.

We are pleased the new 'The Hub @ the Club' will be opened for community usage, following redevelopment work that offers partitioning of the large hall into a range of spaces to accommodate different groups at affordable rates.
