Asian Dance Workshops a Hit

Hasland Village Hall came alive to the sights and sounds of Asian Dance in July at The Asian Association of Chesterfield and North Derbyshire’s Asian Dance Workshops.

Local residents of all ages enjoyed trying on traditional clothes and scarves and taking part in a mixture of Bollywood style and semi classical dances, as well as dances from other parts of India such as Gujarat and Rajasthan.

Participants were wowed by the “lovely costumes”, commenting that “the dances were beautiful” and that they had “thoroughly enjoyed the experience.”

Dance teacher Sanjukta, who ran the workshops, said “We got a lovely response from the audience and it was great to see that everybody was willing to join in and take part."
