Getting Started – Getting Involved

Between June and October 2013, 441 questionnaires were filled in by people who live or work in Grassmoor and Hasland to help identify what local people see as the main priorities on how to improve the area.
Questionnaires were filled in at Grassmoor Community Centre, Penmore Stores and on our online survey as well as through a number of local community groups who applied for small grants
Thanks to everyone who took the time to give their views, this information will be used to help decide key priorities in the area.

The Hotpot Events "share your hotpot of ideas!"

Two Hotpot Events were held in November for residents to come along and over great food and conversation hear about what has been happening, share their  ideas for the future and see how to get involved. The response was extremely positive with 35 people attending the Grassmoor event and 37 at Hasland.

At the events Dave Brennan, our Local Trust representative, gave an overview of what Big Local is and what it aims to achieve, Diane Sheppard from Links CVS gave an update on what we’ve achieved to date and Steve Lee from NEDDC and Dave summarised the feedback received  from the questionnaires and explained how this had lidentified key themes for working groups to be formed around. Attendees were then able to have a chat about what they had heard over food before being invited to sign up to the groups.

More information about the working groups can be found on this website under Working Groups.
